Mitchell Levy

Mitchell Levy, Program Consultant and faculty member for the Business Management Certificate Program is also Director of the innovative Silicon Valley Executive Business Program and a partner in CEOnetworking. His latest company is Happy About™ which which writes and publishes books for corporations. He is also President and CEO of the Strategic Consulting firm ECnow.com, author of the books Happy About Outsourcing, Happy About Knowing What to Expect in 2005, and E-Volve-or-Die.com, creator of the Value Framework®, and on the Board of Directors of Rainmaker Systems, a Nasdaq traded company. Mr. Levy was the conference chair for four Comdex conferences and was at Sun Microsystems for 9 years, the last 4 of which he managed the e-commerce component of Sun's $3.5 billion supply chain. He is a popular speaker, lecturing on business and management issues throughout the U.S. and around the world.

Virginia BeckVirginia Beck, training and development analyst, human resources, City of San José, has extensive experience in the supervision and management of staff and volunteers to accomplish project development, implementation and evaluation. She manages the City of San Jose's Citywide Training Program and is, herself, a skilled trainer with over 25 years of experience in adult learning. She has taught for Ohlone College, Fremont, CA; SJSU's Professional Development Program, and the City of San Jose as well as private companies in the Bay Area.
Virginia BeckAngelika Blendstrup, Ph.D, Founder, Professional Business Communications is a business communications coach who helps foreign-born executives with problems understanding the complexities of American business culture and the English language to communicate skillfully and effectively. In particular, she helps improve their written and oral communication skills, prepares them for media interviews and works on reducing their accents. Angelika has traveled extensively throughout Europe and Latin America and speaks Spanish and Portuguese as well as French and German.
Virginia BeckMark Bronder, MBA, has been an executive in steel, management consulting, hi tech, and venture capital. He is a successful entrepreneur who built a company from scratch to over $70M in revenues, took it public, and then sold it. Mr. Bronder began his career as an IT executive at Inland Steel Company in Chicago, worked as a Management Consultant at Booz Allen & Hamilton and worked for Rolm Corporation (now part of Siemens) and Sun Microsystems during periods when both firms were experiencing their greatest growth. Mr. Bronder also spent five years at Institutional Venture Partners as a Venture Capitalist. He Co-Founded Pete's Brewing Company (now part of Gambrinus), brewers of Pete's Wicked Ale.

Lucy Freedman

Lucy Freedman, professional coach and principal of Syntax Communication Modeling Corporation, has consulted to organizations and designed and led learning programs since 1973, to increase effectiveness through mutual understanding. She has extensive experience working with managers, IT professionals, engineers, financial professionals, customer service representatives, consultants, coaches, trainers and facilitators in organizations such as Hewlett-Packard, Sun Microsystems, Oracle, and government agencies. Lucy is co-author of Smart Work: The Syntax Guide for Mutual Understanding in the Workplace, a handbook for technical and professional people. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Derinda GaumondDerinda Gaumond is Founder and CEO of WorkIt.com, a website calendar that compiles and delivers listings of high-tech networking events happening in Northern and Southern California. For nearly two years she has been involved in the networking scene for startups and has created the most comprehensive resource of events in the Bay Area. Prior to founding WorkIt, Derinda worked at three other startups in the Bay Area including Ateva.com and RampUp. She has an extensive background in publishing, both in print and online. Derinda also coaches individuals on how to improve their networking skills.
